Ao abrigo de uma Bolsa Fulbright para Investigação com o apoio da FCT e no âmbito do seu doutoramento em ‘Agricultural Sciences ‘ da Universidade do Porto, Pedro Sousa desenvolveu parte da sua pesquisa na University of Arkansas, AR, EUA.

«My time in Arkansas was undoubtedly a rollercoaster, but I can confidently say it was the best international experience I’ve ever had.
I had the incredible opportunity to connect with amazing people and experience, firsthand, the rich cultural diversity that exists within an American university. Learning from cultures that we don’t typically encounter in our home country and building friendships that I know will last a lifetime was the most valuable takeaway from this journey. Shared dinners, coffee breaks, road trips, hikes in nature, and deep conversations about our different realities are memories that will stay with me forever.
Beyond this personal growth, the academic and research experience far exceeded my expectations. Despite a somewhat challenging start, the project evolved smoothly and resulted in several oral presentations at conferences hosted by the University of Arkansas. The research focused on the impact and influence of different font types on the sensory evaluation and emotional perception of food products – a topic that proved to be both innovative and deeply engaging.
This was, without a doubt, a unique, enriching, and transformative experience, completely different from any other mobility program I had participated in before. A heartfelt thank you to the Fulbright Commission for this incredible opportunity and for the support provided before, during, and after this unforgettable journey.»
