Ao abrigo de uma Bolsa Fulbright para Investigação, Joana Pimenta, estudante de mestrado em “Artificial Intelligence” da Università di Bologna, Itália, desenvolveu parte da sua pesquisa sobre “photonic analogues of artificial life” em Yale University, CT, EUA.

My visit to Yale University was a truly enriching experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone, both academically and personally. I had the opportunity to work in a great research lab with a multidisciplinary group, where I learned a lot and was challenged to think in new ways.
Beyond the academic side, I learned more about American culture and Yale traditions, while also sharing parts of Portuguese culture with the people I met. I also had the opportunity to visit iconic American cities like New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C. The United States welcomed me with open arms, and I felt very grateful for the kindness I encountered.
I made meaningful connections and friends from different backgrounds, which made the experience even more special. Being part of such an intellectually stimulating, culturally diverse, and welcoming environment is something I will always remember. I am very grateful to Fulbright for making this opportunity possible.
