«My time in New York and at Weill Cornell Medicine was an incredibly enriching and transformative experience, one that I carried with me for the rest of my career and life. Upon arriving in the heart of New York, a city that never sleeps, I quickly realized how this vibrant city offered not just a fast-paced life but a constant source of inspiration. The diversity of cultures, backgrounds, and experiences within this city mirrored the very essence of science itself, a place where ideas, perspectives, and collaborations could merge to create groundbreaking advancements. In the professional realm, joining Weill Cornell Medicine was a dream come true.
Over the course of my six months at Weill Cornell, I had the chance to collaborate with people from all over the world, which enriched both my personal and professional growth. From day one, I felt supported by colleagues and mentors who shared their vast knowledge and experience. The environment at Weill Cornell empowered me to step outside my comfort zone, pushing me to develop new skills and deepen my understanding of epitranscriptomics and cancer biology.

New York, in many ways, also served as a teacher to me. The city’s energy promoted creativity and ambition, which challenged me to continually strive for excellence. But it also taught me the importance of balance. The Fulbright program gave me a unique opportunity to engage with diverse cultures, connect with exceptional people, and contribute to the field of oncology research in a meaningful way. My project, which involved working with RNA modifications and studying the protein FTO, significantly expanded my technical and scientific expertise.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been part of Weill Cornell Medicine and New York City. This experience gave me a sense of fulfillment and belonging, and it inspired me to continue pursuing my research with even more enthusiasm and determination. The next phase of my journey will undoubtedly be shaped by everything I learned and experienced there.»
