Prior to his research stay in Purdue, Martim will conduct experimental mechanics activities on a solid-state electrolyte combined with polymer-based fiber composites used in solid-state Lithium ion batteries. While at Purdue School of Materials, he hopes to develop numerical simulations that capture the mechanical behavior of these novel material systems.
