Micah Porter, a recent graduate from Wake Forest University, holds a degree in Politics and International Affairs with a concentration in sustainable development. As a devoted environmentalist with a background in ethnographic research, Micah is passionate about sustainability and is excited to apply his knowledge through his collaboration with the Marine Spatial Planning Platform, in connection with the Universidade dos Açores.

In his role, Micah aims to contribute towards the Azores’ goals for sustainable tourism, while specifically focusing on understanding the unique needs and challenges of the Azorean fishing communities who rely on ocean access for their economy. Upon completion of his grant, Micah plans to continue sharing his knowledge of sustainable practices as an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) advisor in New York City.
