Corinne Clarkson will conduct political science research with Dr. Maria Antónia Pires de Almeida at the Institute University of Lisbon, focusing on the lasting influence of Portugal’s authoritarian regime on current female political participation. Corinne recently graduated with her master’s in Latin American Studies from the University of Utah with a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship in Portuguese. She received her double bachelor’s in journalism and Portuguese from Utah State University in 2021. After this fellowship, Corinne hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in international relations with the goal of empowering women around the world.
