Patrick Symmes
Patrick Symmes is an author of three books on Latin American history, The Day Fidel Died, The Boys from Dolores, and Chasing Che. As a correspondent for Harper’s monthly, Outside magazine, and the New York Times, he has specialized in covering closed societies and revolutionary movements from the Colombian guerrillas to the Arab Spring. He spent the last academic year studying authoritarian movements worldwide as a Knight-Wallace Fellow in Journalism at the University of Michigan.
