Isabela Santos is a PhD student in Sustainable Chemistry in LAQV-REQUIMTE at the Faculty of Farmacy, University of Porto. Her research project aims to disclose the therapeutic potential of natural compounds, specifically flavonoids, in targeting TGF-β in metastatic osteosarcoma. As a Visiting Student Researcher in Professor Su Ryon Shin’s Lab, Division of Engineering in Medicine, Brigham Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, she aims to pioneer a dynamic 3D osteosarcoma bone-on-a-chip platform. This innovative platform will enable Isabela to monitor and analyze the interactions between osteosarcoma cells and bone tissues when exposed to flavonoid derivatives, providing valuable insights into potential treatment strategies.
