Inês Almeida is a Portuguese teacher with a master’s in Portuguese as a Second or Foreign Language by the University of Porto. She has worked in different teaching contexts in Portugal, East Timor, Spain and Germany. In the upcoming academic year, she will work as a Foreign Language Teaching Assistant in the United States. She will have the opportunity to teach and assist in Portuguese language classes, participate in the department’s activities and accompany the students in their learning. This way, she hopes not only to improve her abilities as a teacher, but also to act as a cultural ambassador, developing intercultural dialogues and activities within the community of learners. The chance to work as an FLTA will also be of immense value in the future, to continue her work as a researcher and an academic in the fields of language didactics and teaching.
