Carolina do Carmo
Carolina do Carmo is a researcher in Biomedical Sciences and Engineering. During her Fulbright grant, her research project will be focused on exploring methods of artificial intelligence (AI) for remote sensing with unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) imagery to boost the biodiversity protection of the Azorean archipelago while improving its community’s well-being. As a Visiting Researcher Student at the University of California-Los Angeles, Carolina will have the opportunity to gain knowledge on the state-of-the-art AI and UAV methods used in the field of biodiversity conservation as well as develop a field framework with the most promising methods to be applied in different contexts.
