Miguel Correia is a Biochemistry Master’s student at the Faculty of Sciences and School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Porto. The student will develop part of his master’s thesis at Buck Institute for Research on Aging, California, where he will have the opportunity to learn new, advanced research techniques and methodologies. This project will focus on furthering our understanding of cellular aging by investigating the molecular mechanisms linking actin cytoskeleton dynamics, organelle inheritance and protein quality control. Beyond establishing mechanistic links, this project aims to make effective contributions to the development of novel therapeutic approaches for age-related diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and cancer.
