Diogo Esteves Pereira
Diogo Esteves Pereira is a PhD student in Chemistry at the University of Aveiro. The focus of his work is on the development of magnetic activated carbon for water treatment, specifically the adsorption of organic emerging micropollutants at trace levels with the aim of improving water and wastewater quality. As a Visiting Student Researcher at the University at Buffalo, Diogo will study the occurrence of PFAS (aka forever chemicals) in local wastewater samples and evaluate the adsorption process of PFAS onto magnetic activated carbon. During his scientific tenure, Diogo will have the opportunity to conduct research in one of the leading laboratories in the field of environmental and analytical chemistry – the Aga Research Group.
