Ana Sofia is currently a second-year Ph.D. Student in Astronomy and Astrophysics, at Science Faculty in the University of Lisbon. She is researching Galaxy Clusters as probes for Cosmology. Her research project is focused on using machine learning methods to detect, identify and infer cosmological parameter constraints using galaxy clusters from galaxy survey data. As a visiting student researcher at the University of California-Irvine, Ana will focus on the study and implementation of new software for unsupervised detection of cluster candidates. She will also be developing supervised learning methods to infer cosmological parameters.
