Marta Teixeira is a PhD Student at Centre for Textile Science and Technology (2C2T) at the University of Minho. Her project focuses on developing of a three-dimensional, biocompatible, and biodegradable polymeric wound dressing, modified with antimicrobial and immunoregulatory biomolecules for the treatment of CW. During her stay in Rutgers University under Fulbright, Marta will: 1) determine the amount and conformation of peptides functionalized on produced mats, 2) alter their architecture in order to find the most efficient on release capacity, 3) and evaluate their biocompatibility and regenerative properties.
