Cátia Pontedeira is doing a PhD in Criminology at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto and the University of Liverpool. Her PhD focus is on sentencing intimate partner homicides in Portugal and England including public perceptions about this crime. In 2022 she will visit the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland giving her the opportunity to broaden the scope of the research and conduct a comparative factorial survey on public perceptions on the topic among students from the University of Porto, Liverpool, and Maryland.
