“I was given the extraordinary opportunity as a Fulbright grantee to spend three months as a visitor scholar at Columbia University in the city of New York. I worked intensely on my doctoral thesis and took advantage of all the existing libraries to gather all sorts of references and innovative material.

I met many very interested and interesting people that shared their thoughts and knowledge on the themes I have been working on with great enthusiasm. I have made so many new friends from all around the world and gained new perspectives through the sharing of different ideologies, religions and traditions that have enlarged my respect and understanding of all these cultural differences.

I feel very privileged because this experience has been so valuable not only professionally and socially through an enlarged network but most of all on a personal basis – I feel I have developed a lot as a human being and that has really exceeded my most optimistic expectations about this program. I am profoundly thankful to the Fulbright Commission for this everlasting experience.”
