«I found at Columbia Law School, besides an inspiring supervisor and attentive faculty and staff, a vibrant academic community that had as much of an “Americana” movie imagination, as it did of a multicultural melting pot. The ability to interact with students and scholars from all over the US and the world was an unparalleled opportunity.

Besides having access to an incredible library during my 4 months as a visiting researcher, I also had the chance to give a guest lecture, present my research Visiting Scholars Forum, to speak at an event organized by the Columbia Law School International Arbitration Association.

The many Fulbright-oriented social events that were hosted during my stay allowed me to see more of the “Big Apple”. Halloween and Thanksgiving were good opportunities to learn new traditions on that side of the Atlantic.

All this in the city that never sleeps, New York. I can only hope to pay forward in Portugal, both professionally and personally, the connection that I benefited from during my rewarding stay at Columbia.»

Thank you, Ana, welcome back!
