Laura Caram
Laura Caram was born in São Paulo, Brazil. She graduated from the University of Miami in 2024 with a BA in International Studies. At UM, Laura unearthed a passion for mentoring, tutoring third graders in English with Teach for America and assisting underserved high schoolers with college applications. Growing up in Miami, studying abroad in Spain, and interning at an immigration law firm inspired Laura to more deeply connect with her heritage, directing her focus toward Portugal and enhancing her proficiency in Portuguese. Laura hopes that being an ETA at the Instituto Politécnico de Santarém will enable her to cultivate relationships with Portugal and its people, while also refining the skills necessary in becoming a Foreign Service Officer.
