Ellena Privitera is a medical student at The Ohio State University focused on health equity and human rights. She will be joining the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, National School of Public to study best practices for health literacy development among migrants. Ellena is passionate about community-based approaches to service and advocacy. She’s hopeful that her research involving a project co-designed and implemented by migrants, health care workers, and social service workers will aid the creation of more initiatives that empower diverse, socially vulnerable communities.
