Michelle Furmansky recently graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh Frederick Honors College with majors in Economics and Politics & Philosophy, a minor in Portuguese and Luso-Brazilian Culture, and a certificate in Global Studies. She will be completing a Fulbright Open Research Award in Lisbon, Portugal next year where she will be examining and evaluating economic policies targeting youth unemployment. She hopes that her work at the University of Lisbon will aid in the creation of more and better economic opportunities for young people in Portugal and in the EU as a whole.
