Jocelyn Vega-Robledo is a 2023-2024 Fulbright English Teaching Assistant at the
Universidade da Madeira. She graduated from Pitzer College in 2023 with a B.A. in Sociology
and Chicanx Latinx Studies. Throughout her time at Pitzer, she developed a passion for higher
education and helping students reach their full potential. During a summer abroad experience in
Bahia, Brazil, she gained a strong interest in language instruction and intercultural learning. A
passionate mentor and educator, Jocelyn is looking forward to connecting with the Madeira
community. Her future plans include obtaining her doctorate in Sociology in an effort towards
becoming a university professor.
