Colleen Beatriz is a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst and holds an MPH in Epidemiology as well as bachelor’s degrees in Public Health, Economics, and Portuguese. Her research focuses on social disparities in chronic health outcomes, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community. Colleen will be conducting research under Dr. Henrique Pereira at the Department of Psychology and Education at University of Beira Interior, where her project will focus on understanding occupational health of LGBTQ+ workers in Portugal,and the unique challenges that these individuals face in the workplace.
