Megan Bloem is a 2020-2021 English Teaching Assistant at the Universidade da Madeira in Funchal. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2020 with a double major in Sociology and Spanish. After an internship teaching English at the Universidade do Minho in Braga, she became fascinated with the Portuguese language and culture. She is excited about the opportunity to explore the nature and culture of Madeira. In addition to teaching English, Megan looks forward to immersing herself in the local community by getting involved in equestrian sports and creating conversation circles to facilitate culture and language exchange.
