Catarina Teixeira

Catarina Teixeira is a PhD student in Molecular Pathology and Genetics at Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar, University of Porto. She is currently conducting her project at Instituto Português de Oncologia do Porto within the “Cancer Biology and Epigenetics” group under the supervision of Professor Carmen Jerónimo. Her research’s aim is to elucidate the primary role of m6A modification in kidney cancer. As a Visiting Student Researcher at Professor Samie Jaffrey’s laboratory at Weill Cornell University, New York, Catarina intends to undertake a comprehensive investigation into the pharmacological inhibitor of FTO, DAC51, to determine its potential as a therapeutic approach for kidney cancer treatment.
