Sofia Dias

Sofia Dias is a Ph.D. student in Biomedical Sciences at Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar and she has been developing her project at Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde (i3S), University of Porto. Her Ph.D. research project focuses on developing and establishing novel and clinically relevant in vitro colorectal cancer models for drug and nanomedicine efficacy screening. As a Visiting Student Researcher in Dr. Michael J. Mitchell’s Lab at the University of Pennsylvania, Sofia will focus on understanding the impact of the dynamic flow in the 3D models and gaining more expertise in the nanomedicine therapy field for this pathology, to further validate such models.
