Filipa Prata Silva
Filipa Prata Silva is a second year PhD student at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Her research focuses on viral chromatin methylation during KSHV (Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus) infection. The aim of her project is to understand the interaction between LANA – a critical viral protein – and the cellular methylation complexes. During her stay at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, she will learn new techniques and approaches to study LANA mutants in vitro and further characterize the mechanisms of chromatin modification interference by viruses during infection.
