Diana Gomes
Diana Gomes is a PhD student in Biochemistry at the Health Sciences Research Centre – University of Beira Interior, with a fellowship supported by FCT. Her PhD research work focuses on the biosynthesis and purification of HPV E6 and E7 oncoproteins to explore specific drugs against cervical cancer. As a Visiting Student Researcher at the University of Virginia, Diana will integrate Professor Nicholas Vecchiarello’s research team and be engaged in the synthesis and characterization of novel chromatographic resins based on affinity ligands to purify difficult-to-isolate proteins.
