Pedro is a PhD student in Computer Engineering at University of Lisbon. His research focuses on the optimization of numerical schemes in the Computational Fluid Dynamics field (CFD) via machine learning. During his stay at University of Colorado Boulder under the supervision of Professor Maziar Raissi, Pedro will improve error estimates as well as more effective flux limiters. Machine learning is capable of extracting patterns from data allowing CFD to be improved without user intervention.
