Miguel is an electrical and computer engineer with a background in quantum engineering and computer architecture. He holds a bachelor’s from Instituto Superior Técnico, a master’s from Delft University of Technology, and has since worked as a research engineer at QuTech, the Dutch advanced research institute for quantum communication and computation. While enrolled in the doctoral program in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Miguel will focus his research on scaling superconducting qubit technology for the development of large-scale quantum computers. His work will span the development of control electronics and software stacks, the design of quantum processors, and the challenges related to system characterization and calibration.
