Leonor Mendes
Leonor is a performance artist, writer and researcher living in Lisbon. She has completed her baccalaureate at Escola Superior de Dança – Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa. With a Fulbright Grant and a Graduate Scholarship from New York University, she will be starting her master’s degree in Performance Studies at Tisch School of the Arts this Fall. In her studies at NYU, she wishes to contribute to the understanding of performance art as a way to engage actively with social issues, promoting the well-being of our communities and interpersonal relations, as well as reflecting on the important role it plays in politics, thus bringing a deeper awareness to the value of artistic productions happening both in Portugal and internationally.
