Carlos obtained his MSc degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minho in 2019. Since then, he has been part of the Civil.Infrastructures@ISISE research group working on the improvement of management processes for large civil infrastructures during their operational phase. He has participated in the publication of articles in international conferences and journals in the areas of structural analysis, life-cycle cost analysis, performance predictive models, and Bridge Information Modelling. These publications result from his work in the doctoral program in Civil Engineering. At the University of Central Florida, he will be focused on the condition assessment of aging bridges and the management of all information generated in the operational process. The main target is related to the digitization of all information into bridge information models to enhance such models with additional features such as damage detection using computer vision techniques.
