Bernardo Gonçalves
Bernardo is a PhD student in Physics at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon. His research work is focused on the missing pieces of the Standard Model of Particle Physics, a mathematical description of all the known fundamental particles in the Universe as well as their interactions. He has been tackling models that go beyond the Standard Model, namely models with several Higgs particles. In such models, some of the most crucial open problems can be addressed and some interesting features have popped up during his research. As a visiting student researcher at William & Mary, Bernardo aims to continue exploring such models and different open questions, under the guidance of Prof. Marc Sher.
