Bruna Coelho holds a BA degree in Anthropology from the University of Coimbra and is currently enrolled in the MPhil program in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Coimbra. She is a Research Assistant at Sci-Tech Asia, an international research network, a member of the Centre for Research in Anthropology, and is the founder of the Internet project Antropia. Bruna’s project, “Public Toilets in the Feminine: Portuguese Female Users’ Perspectives on Public Toilets and the International Movement Calling for Adoption of Gender Norms”, brings a gender perspective to our understanding of public toilets. At NYU, the student will have the opportunity to research the intersection of Anthropology, Science and Technology Studies, Gender Studies, and Urbanism.
